Ethical Digital Receives Funding from Prairies Economic Development Canada

Funding of $150K through PrairiesCan will support Ethical Digital’s plans for strategic growth, driving their corporate training development, digital marketing, and research initiatives.

Saskatoon, SK, Canada, March 8, 2023 — Ethical Digital is excited to announce $150,000 in funding from Prairies Economic Development Canada (PrairiesCan) through the Jobs and Growth Fund (JGF) in the Prairie Provinces. The team will use the funds to support the growth of their team and the development of their online training programs, digital marketing agency activities, and research initiatives.

Ethical Digital is changing the trajectory of the Internet through inclusive digital marketing services, research, corporate training and certifications for communications professionals. In addition to providing full-service social media, website and email marketing, they have also been researching important questions like how to get more women in careers in Venture Capital, how to get more Indigenous women involved in technology development and how social media affects mental health.

The funds have already helped grow their internal team, onboarding Business Development Specialists focused on generating new business opportunities through qualifying leads and prospecting to engage potential clients and partners to Ethical Digital’s services and offerings.

PrairiesCan works to diversify the economy across the Prairie Provinces, supporting small and growing businesses that meet economic diversification goals. PrairiesCan’s funding has come at an opportune time in Ethical Digital’s growth, enabling the company to drive its mission forward of “changing the trajectory of the internet.”

With a strong focus on digital training opportunities, Ethical Digital plans to build relationships with corporations and large organizations to offer large-scale training and keynote speaking sessions on social media and its effects on well-being, productivity, and privacy in the workplace.

“The support from PrairiesCan has been so valuable for our team,” said Katrina German, Ethical Digital Founder & CEO. “Their contributions have already directly impacted the growth of our team, as we’ve been able to hire our Chief Development Officer and build a team of Business Development Specialists. They have already been busy expanding our digital training while also supporting our other business pillars.”

“Ethical Digital is helping online content creators understand the impacts of technology and social media on Canadians,” said the Honourable Dan Vandal, Minister for PrairiesCan. “Our government is pleased to provide funding to support the growth of Ethical Digital’s digital marketing activities and research initiatives that will help build a better, more inclusive, and socially-conscious digital society.”

Ethical Digital training currently concentrates on social media and its relationship with well-being and mental health, with future programs planned for development. The Social Media and Well-Being Training courses prepare anyone communicating virtually to approach communications in a way that protects well-being and puts people first.

From a corporate perspective, the training provides understanding and actionable steps around the sensitivities of online communication—internally and through social media—to enhance culture and reduce reputation risk, with the bonus of increasing employee productivity.
